Broken Computer

A broken computer is better than a working one

Broken Computer

This morning was another, that’s all. Just simply another. Another day of work, another day of boredom, and another day of headaches. This stupid computer was going to be the death of me! It was covered with spam, and ads, and problems. It was old too. That made it worse because no one had any parts to fix it. I asked the tech guy at my work office if he could do anything, I asked the administrator, I even asked the creepy man in the garage across the street. Nothing I could do would fix this stupid computer.

DING

Ugh! There it goes again. Another add! Steadily walking over to the dreadful thing, I peered down at it with malice. Oh, I just can’t stand it. I pressed the spacebar to dismiss the spam. As I turned to leave another add opened up, and after closing that one another add popped up, then another, then another, then another. The entire screen was filled with flashing colors and black, hated words offering a prize or free download, so much so that I could have fallen on the floor in a seizer. I hadn’t downloaded anything that would bring this much frustration, I was always safe with this subject. Perhaps my premium-bought add protection on the computer no longer carried for a computer of this size and age. Another sound. I hastily took it to my window and threw it out. Satisfied in hearing the crash below, I closed the window. The thing was left there, in the grass, with parts scattered through fall and winter, only noticed again in the spring. Sticking out of the mud like a decaying poison plant that had lost its effects on people
